About

I am a Lecturer at the University of Reading in UK. I started my academic career as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (2008) and Post-Doctoral Academic Fellow (2009) at the University of Reading. In December of 2008, I finished my PhD thesis on the relationship between risk and price in the tendering process of construction contractors under the supervision of Professor Will Hughes. Prior to transferring to Reading in January 2008, I was an MPhil/PhD student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi (2004-07); and also a visiting scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA (2005); University of Reading (2006-07); and National University of Singapore (2007). I attained my undergraduate degree in Building Technology from KNUST, Kumasi in 1998-2002. From 1994-96, I was educated at Suhum Secondary Technical School, after elementary education at schools in Ghana and Nigeria. During school days, my peers elected me to serve in several leadership positions including Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President (2001-02); General Secretary of Unity Hall (2000-01); President of Premier City (1999-00); and Asst School Prefect (1995-96). I did my National Service with the Fanteakwa District Assembly at Begoro in 2002-03. On completion of my National Service, I was employed at the Development Office of KNUST, Kumasi from October 2003 to October 2004 when I left to take up a full-time PhD position at KNUST, Kumasi. I am a co-organiser for the West Africa Built Environment Research (WABER) Conference with responsibility for strategy and development. I am also an author of 20+ research publications and a book on education and student leadership in Ghana. I will always be grateful to God for helping me with the abilities and opportunities I have always needed to succeed. My life-time ambition is to work for a strong political and economic union of African states and a new era of peace, security and prosperity across the African continent.
