About
My primary interest is language processing in late second language (L2) learners, focusing on processing of morphologically complex words (inflection, derivation) and of syntactically complex sentences that include intermediate traces of wh-movement. My aim has been to investigate similarities and differences between native (L1) and L2 processing, both in behavioural terms and in terms of underlying brain activity, as well as whether naturalistic exposure to L2 leads to L1-like processing. For my research, I have used online behavioural techniques (self-paced reading, masked priming), as well as event-related fMRI designs. My current employment involves the running and analysis of an fMRI study on stutterers and clutterers, as well as the analysis of fMRI and resting state ASL data of a study investigating the effects of flavanoids in cognitive functions.
